BIRMINGHAM, Ala.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 12, 2012-- The Board of Directors of Energen Corporation (NYSE: EGN) today elected Joe E. “Rusty” Cook to Senior Vice President – Legal and Land at Energen Resources Corporation, the company’s oil and gas exploration and production subsidiary. Cook has served as Vice President – Legal and Land since 1998. He will continue his duties as Assistant Secretary of Energen and its subsidiaries, a position he has held since 2006. Cook has worked in a variety of positions during his 32-year tenure with Energen.

He is a member of the American Bar Association, Birmingham Bar Association, Alabama State Bar, Association of Corporate Counsel, Tarrant-Pinson Valley Rotary Club, Board of Directors - Alabama Sports Festival, Legal Committee - New Mexico Oil and Gas Association, Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation, Independent Petroleum Association of America and Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission - Legal and Regulatory Affairs Committee.

A graduate of the University of Alabama and Birmingham School of Law, Cook and his wife, Elaine, live in Birmingham.
